Milyo respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Milyo, we collect the following personal information directly from you:

• Identity: Full name, date of birth (for birthday offers), gender
• Contact: Phone number (also used for WhatsApp community access), email address
• Location: Your area within Bangalore (for hub delivery coordination); we may request device location access to verify that you are in Bangalore for delivery eligibility
• Order-related: Delivery address, order history, product preferences
• Payment-related: Payment reference details, UPI transaction proofs, refund account details (we do not store card numbers, CVVs, or UPI PINs)

We may also automatically collect basic technical information such as browser type, device information, and IP address, solely to ensure the platform functions correctly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Create and manage your Milyo account
• Process and fulfill your orders
• Coordinate deliveries with brands and hub volunteers
• Communicate order updates, deal launches, and community announcements
• Provide customer support
• Send birthday offers (based on your date of birth)
• Improve the Milyo platform and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations (tax records, regulatory requirements)

3. Data Sharing with Brands

When you place an order, we share only the necessary order details with the partner brand:

• Product name(s), quantity, and batch (where applicable)
• Total quantity aggregated across all buyers in the deal

We do NOT share your personal information (name, contact, address, etc.) with brands unless direct-to-customer delivery is applicable, in which case only the delivery address and name are shared with the brand solely for shipment purposes.

4. Data Sharing with Third-Party Services

Milyo uses a small number of trusted infrastructure providers who process data solely on our behalf:

• Neon Database (data storage) - stores your account and order data securely
• Render (application hosting) - runs the Milyo web application
• PhonePe (payment gateway, from Sept 2026 onward) - processes payment transactions
• Email/SMS providers (order confirmations and notifications)

None of these providers use your data for their own purposes. They act as data processors bound by their own privacy commitments.

5. Cookies

Milyo uses essential cookies required for the platform to function - for example, keeping you logged in during your session and protecting against security threats (CSRF). These cookies do not track you across other websites. We currently do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we introduce analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Order and financial records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years to comply with Indian tax and accounting regulations, after which they are securely deleted or anonymized. You may request account deletion at any time by emailing info@milyo.co.in; we will delete your account subject to any statutory retention obligations.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), secure database access controls, and limited internal access. However, no system is 100% secure - you acknowledge this inherent risk when using any online platform.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data (subject to statutory retention)
• Withdraw consent for communications at any time

9. Children's Privacy

Milyo is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to Milyo, please contact us at info@milyo.co.in and we will delete the information promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or the WhatsApp community. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
